Dejan Grgić graduated social work at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka, he is 27 years old and actively volunteers in the Association that brings together young people with disabilities in Banja Luka. He has been dedicated to the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities for several years. During his studies, he tried to find a job, but being a person with a disability, he encountered various obstacles and prejudices from employers.
He participated in several trainings organized as part of the YourJob project: writing a CV and a motivational letter, and conducting the first interview with the employer. All the skills he improved together with the counseling of YourJob guidance counselor from Banja Luka, allowed him to find his first work experience through an internship program. Currently, he is an intern in the non-governmental organization Infopart Banja Luka, as an administrative worker.

"I have only words of praise for the YourJob project based on the activities I participated in, as well on its concept, trainings and organization. The project and trainings are maximally focused on the needs and wishes of young people. I plan is to successfully finish college and finding a job in BiH for a decent salary. Working with the elderly is my dream job, but I am ready to try myself in a small business also. I will continue to work on myself, adopting and learning personal development techniques, and maybe even transferring that knowledge to the other people. ”- Dejan enthusiastically explains to us.
When we talk about the issue of youth employment, Dejan emphasizes that it is the most difficult to find the first job while most employers are looking for work experience. One big problem is the overproduction of staff that is not needed in the labor market, the questionable quality of knowledge learned through schooling, lack of practical work during schooling, youth passivity, corruption, a state system disorder, etc. All this prevents young people having a minimum existence in their country which pushes them to seek a decent job in more regulated systems abroad.
Dejan tells his peers: "Be persistent, one day someone will notice your effort, knowledge, and commitment! If you have a business idea, realize it without fear of failure! The YourJob project is a great opportunity to be noticed, it gives you the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills and create new opportunities for your success! ”

Dejan is one of 1100 young people involved in the project activities of the YourJob project in Bosnia and Herzegovina in two years of project implementation. Through the project, over 110 professional trainings were organized for 500 young people, more than 30 soft skills trainings for 300 young people, while 130 young people gained their first work experience through an internship program. More than 60 young people found permanent employment through the YourJob project, while 50 young people stepped into the process of self-employment, four of whom received financial incentives for their company.
The Caritas regional three-year project YourJob aims to empower young people, by providing opportunities to increase their competitiveness in the labor market. It is implemented by the Caritas network in 14 cities/municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency, Renovabis, the Medicor Foundation and Caritas Austria.
